Hi everyone, Circle hopes you are enjoying your summer! Just few notes for the month of July regarding classes. Get ready for the fall, we have many exciting things up our sleeve!
Circle Modern Dance Classes
Circle is back and ready for the late summer/early fall with energized teachers ready to share what they love! Improv is back! Technique is offered Wednesdays and Sundays! Ballet will now be taught by a rotating group of teachers starting Aug. 8th.
We hope to see you in one of these classes soon!
Wednesdays 6:00-7:30pm Contemporary Modern Dance Technique with Amanda Merriss
Wednesdays 7:30-9:00pm Adult Open Level Ballet with Amanda Merriss (Amanda will be starting Aug. 8th)
Sundays 3:00-4:30pm Open Level Modern Dance Technique with Sarah Whitaker
Sundays 4:30-6:00pm Improvisation Techniques with Maria McGuire
As a reminder class pricing will remains:
$5 per class (first class free)
$50 Unlimited Classes July-December 2012*
*If you have purchased an unlimited pass in 2011 and have not already registered for the new year, please renew if you plan to attend this way in 2012.
Audition, Audition, Audition!
We are very excited to be gearing up for our 22nd annual Modern Dance Primitive Light at The Historic Laurel Theatre Dec. 13-15, 2012!
We will be holding an audition for dancers and performers on Sat. Aug. 25th at 2pm in the Emporium Annex Studio (where we hold classes). Please bring comfortable clothes you can move in, water, your planner or work schedule, and be ready to dance!!!

Circle Modern Dance will be a series of dances and improvisational structures as part of Gerry Moll’s and Mac Goodwin’s Sunflower Project. Improv performance will be Sept. 3, 11-1pm at Krutch Park. Another performance, with choreographed dances, will be held Sept. 7th at 7:30pm in Krutch Park.
Tennessee Association of Dance
Circle Modern Dance is a proud member of the Tennessee Association of Dance, a statewide network of organizations and individuals dedicated to artistic excellence and committed to ensuring that dance is a vital and respected part of life for all Tennesseans. TAD provides services that support communication, fellowship, advocacy, leadership, and education for a broad-based dance constituency.
This is a great organization to check out and they have a wonderful festival in Chattanooga October 19-21. This is a great chance to study with some amazing faculty and to have a fun time meeting other dancers from across the state!
